Picnic Day BBQ- Stop by the house from 11am- 1pm on April 18th, 2009 to celebrate Picnic Day. Please contact Daniel Stevens at dastevens@ucdavis.edu to RSVP or to request more information.
Alumni Involvement:
Fraternity membership is for life, and many alumni continue to contribute to the Fraternity even after college. Following graduation, all members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon are encouraged to remain active in fraternity and to join the alumni association. Alumni residing outside of the local chapter area can also participate through area alumni associations throughout the country.
Alumni Newsletter:
The Cal Kappa Informer is a bi-annual newsletter published by the active members to inform alumni on the current status of the house. It also features an overview of the activities the house has been participating in over the preceding months.
Alumni Association:
Recent alumni have been instrumental in starting up the official Cal Kappa Alumni Association. Alumni who are interested in joining the alumni association should check out the alumni association web-page. http://ucdsaealumni.com/
Alumni Events:
There are several events throughout the year that we specifically encourage alumni to attend:
· Homecoming- Every year we invite alumni to the house for an alumni BBQ for the UCD Homecoming Football Game. Following the BBQ, everyone heads over to the football stadium to enjoy the game. Homecoming takes place in the fall (typically in October).
· Founder’s Day- Founder’s Day is when we celebrate the founding of our fraternity. Founded on March 9th, 1856 the fraternity is over 150 years old. For Founder’s Day Alumni are invited to attend formal dinner. Held in March.
· Picnic Day- Picnic Day is believed to be the largest student-run event in the nation festive day showcases the talents, achievements, and history of the university. For picnic day alumni are invited to stop by the fraternity house throughout the day for a BBQ lunch. Picnic Day is held in the spring and usually takes place in April.
