UC Davis is one of the top 50 public universities in the nation according to US News and The Princeton Review, and at Cal Kappa we acknowledge that we are not only here to help the community and build social bonds, but primarily to become educated gentlemen.

The trouble ain’t that there is too many fools, but that the lightning ain’t distributed right.  ~Mark Twain

Being in a fraternity takes time and dedication. In the past, study time was where most members would cut short to make time for the house. It is because of this that the brothers of Cal Kappa enacted a new scholarship plan beginning Winter 2005. The new scholarship plan was created not to force studying, or punish members who have academic deficits. Instead the objective is to create a more open study environment, where brothers of relate majors are encouraged to help each other out, as well as promote group study hours to ensure understanding of topics at hand.

Cal Kappa Scholarship benefits:

  • Incentives to study as a house
  • Incentives to have a high class attendance rate

The new scholarship plan is still in its early stages, but already our collective house academic record has increased and also raised our stance among all Fraternities at UC Davis.
